UDHAMPUR, July 24: A petty issue claimed life of a young man, who was brutally hacked to death by his maternal uncle and aunt at village Basht in Chenani, here last night.
The deceased was identified as Mohan Lal (38), son of Beli Ram of Basht, Chenani. He was hacked to death by his maternal uncle Joli Ram (50) and his wife Sagri Devi (45).
Reports said that theft of a tomato box allegedly by deceased Mohan Lal from the fields of his maternal uncle Joli Ram led to some heated exchange of words between the two and subsequent murder. In a fit of rage, Joli Ram took an axe and with his wife, allegedly attacked their nephew who died on way to the hospital.
Acting swiftly, Police arrested the accused couple and registered a case under Section 302 RPC against them.
