MENDHAR, Mar 9: A youth committed suicide by hanging at his residence at Sagra village in Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district.
A police spokesman said that one Liyaqat Hussain (25), son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Sagra village in Mendhar became serious after he tried to commit suicide in his room last night. He was noticed by a family member and was rushed to SDH Mendhar from where he was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu.
He was admitted in GMC vide MLC No 1247 as hanging case. He had used turban cloth to commit suicide. He expired today at around 4:20 pm. The dead body was shifted to mortuary for postmortem. The police has taken cognizance.
