MENDHAR, Mar 2: A youth impersonating as Police officer was arrested from Mendhar town and some fake stamps of SHO, SDPO, BMO and Naib Tehsildar were recovered from his possession.
A police spokesman said that acting on a specific information, a police party led by SHO Mendhar, Bishnesh Kumar under the supervision of SDPO Surinder Choudhary, conducted a raid and arrested the accused from a tea- stall in Mendhar town this afternoon.
He has been identified as Zaffar Iqbal (26), son of Mohd Sadiq Naz, resident of Chak Banola in Poonch. The police also arrested his two associates namely, Sajid Shah from Nadoli and Mehtab Khan from Kottan village in Mendhar. The police also recovered some fake stamps of SHO, SDPO, BMO and Naib Tehsildar from his possession. He used to issue certificates to the people for various purposes by extorting money from them.
The police registered a case and started investigation.
