JAMMU, Sept 30: A man today made an alleged attempt to commit suicide by jumping into River Tawi in this winter capital of the State.
“A young man namely Shiv Kumar (20) son of Som Nath, resident of Bagh-e-Bahu, this evening jumped into River Tawi from the Gujjar Nagar Bridge and fell into the shallow waters,” police sources here said.
They said the flying squad deployed in the nearby area immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the youth. “He got some injuries in the mishap,” police said, adding they have shifted the injured youth to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
Bagh-e-Bahu police had taken cognizance of the matter.
