JAMMU, Nov 6: A youth was killed while another sustained injuries after a truck hit their motorcycle in the area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Sainik Colony, police sources said.
The deceased was identified as Mintu Kumar, son of Nagar Singh, a resident of Shah Balore District Samba, while the injured was identified as Parveen Singh, son of Harbans Singh, a resident of Shah Balore District Samba.
After conducting post-mortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs, while the injured was responding to the treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) here, when last reports were compiled.
Acting swiftly, a team from Police Post Sainik Colony SI Rahul Dogra arrested the truck driver, who was identified as Ravi Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
A case under FIR Number 181/2021 under Sections 279, 337 and 304 A IPC has been registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation started.
