SAMBA, Mar 13: A youth was killed after a tractor overturned in Pateya Top village of Channi Mansar area of district Samba this morning. The deceased was identified as Pawan Kumar, son of Shammi Nath, resident of Papad Avatara, Samba.
After the accident, the body of the youth was taken out from the tractor in the afternoon and when the body reached Papad Morh on Samba-Mansar road, the deceased’s relatives held protest under the leadership of Ramesh Singh local Sarpanch and blocked the Jammu -Pathankot National Highway. They said that the youth died in the morning and his body was extracted after a long time.
Sarpanch Ramesh Singh said that the owner of the tractor did not reach the spot after the accident and he did not inform anyone and demanded that the owner of the tractor be immediately arrested. He said that the youth’s family should also get compensation. He said that if the owner of the tractor is not taken into custody by tomorrow morning, then the highway will be closed again.
