JAMMU, Sept 14: One person was murdered in Bishnah town here today, police said.
They said around 6 PM, a group of unidentified persons attacked one Sunny alias Unni son of Baldev Raj of Chorli Village in Bishnah town with sharp-edged weapons and bullets when the latter was at his home, resulting in injuries to the youth.
He was taken to a hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
While post-mortem of the deceased youth shall be conducted tomorrow Police have registered an FIR number 216/2023 under section 302 of the IPC and started further investigating the matter.
According a police official, the deceased youth was a notorious drug peddler and had recently completed his term under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
“The deceased youth was thus far booked twice under the PSA for his involvement in over a dozen cases registered under the NDPS Act,” he said, adding that the father of the deceased is still serving his term under the PIT NDPS case.
