JAMMU, Apr 16: A youth outraged the modesty of his minor neighbour in Narayana area, falling under the jurisdiction of Khour police station.
As per police sources, a youth identified as Sanjay Kumar, son of Harbans Lal, a resident of Narayana barged into his neighbour’s house and raped a eight-year-old girl, when the family members were not present at home.
The accused threatened the minor girl of dire consequences, if she revealed the episode to anyone.
However, the girl narrated the ordeal to her parents, who lodged a complaint against the accused with police station Khour.
The girl has been restored to family members after conducting medical examination at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Akhnoor.
Acting over the complaint, a case under Section 376 RPC has been registered at Khour police station and manhunt launched to nab the rapist.
