SAMBA, June 30: The youth of Naran village of district Samba today protested against the PWD and Samba administration over the poor condition of Jatwal-Naran road.
The protest was led by Sourav Sharma and Gopal Sharma. They said that they have knocked every door in PWD from AEE to CE’s Office demanding construction of the road, but till date no one has taken interest to solve the problem due to which there is a lot of anger among the administration.
He said that on the one hand, the Central Government talks about connecting every village with the city, but their plans are limited to paper only, it is not implemented at the ground level.
Gopal who is a youth activist of the area, said that there are about 20 villages which are linked to this route but the road is in such a bad condition that driving on it is not free from any risk and many drivers have also been injured after meeting accidents. He demanded that the road be constructed immediately.
BDC Chairman, Vijay Tagotra said that if the Department failed to construct the Jatwal-Naran road within a month, then he will launch agitation. He said that when he became the BDC chairman, he had submitted a memorandum to DC Samba at that time and demanded the construction of the road but till date nothing was done in this regard.
