MENDHAR, Feb 4: The youth held protest demonstration against local police for the alleged detention of a youth by police and blocked Mendhar-Jammu road for some time.
Reports said that a youth uploaded some objectionable material against a Vice Chancellor of private university on social media. Taking cognizance of the matter, the police detained the youth Asif Zardari after receiving written complaint from the VC , Dr Shahzad Malik.
A large number of youth came out for the support of detained youth on the road and blocked Mendhar-Jammu road demanding release of Zardari. Later, police officers reached the spot and pacified the protesting people. The road was cleared after some time. The youth was also released later on personal bond.
