ANANTNAG, Apr 12: To imbibe the spirit of nationalism and propagate teachings of Sanatan Dharma for benefit of humanity as a whole, Shri Ramakrishna Mahasamelan Ashram, (SRMA) Nagdandi, Anantnag organised a youth Sammelan (meet) at Sanatan Samiksha Bhawan in the Ashram.
A large number of youth from different parts of the Valley and Jammu especially from camps of Vessu, Mattan clusters and other areas of Valley participated in the Sammelan and took out a religious procession in the area highlighting the teachings of Rama Krishna Paramhansa, Maa Sharda and Swami Vivekananda the revolutionary saint of India.
Manas Bhattachryajee , Uttar Prant Sanghathak and Kishore Tokerje joint general secretary , Vivekanda Rock memorial and Vivekanda Kendra Kanya Kumari participated in the programme and reviewed the SRMA activities. They also addressed the youth meet along with B L Bhat chairman, Administrative Committee. Vivestha Parmukh, Bharat Bushan Raina proposed the vote of thanks.
Earlier Ramnavmi and Durga Ashtami festivals were also organised in the Ashram with full religious fervour and gaiety. A Maha Yagya was organised on April 9 and 10 which was followed by the Prasad to devotees. The prominent people of the UT including those from administration, ,security and defence services as well as from majority community, social activists, Panchs and Sarpanches participated in the programme.
