UDHAMPUR, Jan 19: A youth allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a gun in Londana area of the district late this evening.
Police spokesman said that, a youth identified as Shan Mohd, son of Mam Din of Londana shot himself dead with a single barrel gun in his house.
After hearing the gun shot, family members and neighbours rushed to the spot and found the youth in pool of blood.
The police rushed to the spot and shifted the youth to hospital, where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The body has been kept in the mortuary of District Hospital for postmortem, which will be conducted tomorrow, while a case has been registered to ascertain the motive behind such extreme step.
