RAJOURI, Aug 10: A 23-year-old youth committed suicide by using gun of his father to skip his marriage in Budhal area today.
The incident took place this morning. His marriage was today evening. The boy was opposing the marriage while his relatives and other members in the family were after him. He took out .12 bore licensed gun of his father and shot him self.
Identified as Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky, son of Late Chaman Lal (a former VDC member), resident of Draj village, he was rushed to Rajouri Hospital. The doctors provided him immediate treatment and referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu but he succumbed to injuries on the way. The body was brought back to Rajouri and handed over to family after postmortem. Budhal police party led by SHO Rakesh Bhagat seized the gun and started investigation.
