KATHUA, Nov 23: A youth who had caught fire at his residence in mysterious circumstances last month breathed his last at Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Jammu late last night.
He has been identified as Rishi Kumar S/o Sian Dass of 32 Shiv Nagar Kathua.
He was referred to GMC by doctors at District Hospital Kathua in a critical condition. However, battling for his life for over 20 days, Kumar succumbed to his burn injuries late last night.
The Kathua Police has registered a case under Section 174. The body was handed over to family by the police after completing all legal formalities for last rites.
In another incident a youth consumed some poisonous substance at his residence in village Ujh of Rajbagh area of the district early today.
He was taken to District Hospital Kathua for treatment by his family members in a serious condition where he breathed his last later.
He has been identified as Parshotam, son of Sarman Singh of Ujh Rajbagh.
The Rajbagh Police has registered a case under Section 174 and started investigation. The dead body was handed over to family by police after completing all legal formalities.
