LEH, Oct 23: “Our motto is to skill development of youth and to encourage them for volunteerism for the sake of betterment of society”, said Shatrudra Pratap Singh, Member, Board of Governance, NYKS.
Accompanied with Bikram Singh Gill, State Director, NYKS, they both graced the occasion on the Ninth day of NYV training of the volunteers at the Ecology Hostel, here. It is noted that NYK, Leh is organizing 15 days training for the 66 newly recruited volunteers of District Leh and District Kargil of Ladakh Region.
Singh said that you are the future of the nation and you should learn volunteerism for the sake of betterment society and nation.
He said that I want to see future leaders in you.
‘I am very much impressed after meeting with you,’ ‘he added.
State Director Gill discussed about the core schemes of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and said that you have to learn everything about the schemes and you are the messenger of the government schemes through the youth clubs, so you should know everything about the flagship programme of Government of India.
Prior to this, volunteers of Ladakh Region with DYC Tajamul Ara welcomed both the eminent guests and presented patriotic songs, traditional songs and dances donning ethnic clothes of ladakh. Madam Ara welcomed both the Guests with Khatakas.
Afterwards both the guests interacted with the volunteers and asked for the needs and what should be done for the betterment of Ladakh Region.
Member, BOG assured all the youth volunteers to implement new schemes like youth exchange programme for widening of the scope for youths.
They both awarded the winners of the declamation contestant with certificates and appreciated them. Later, SDRF team accompanied with DSP Sonam Dorje interacted with the volunteers and gave a lecture on the Disaster Management and taught volunteers about the techniques used in time of the disaster and emergency.
The last session of the day was hosted by Jigmet Skjitzom from JKEDl. She discussed the schemes of providing loan to start up a business and interacted about the nuances of taking aid from the JKEDI.
Many volunteers asked queries and all the volunteers enjoyed the interactive session.
The ninth day session of the programme wrap up with the vote of thanks.
