POONCH, Aug 3: A youth hailing from Loran area of Mandi sub division, was washed away in Plastu river near Kalai in district Poonch this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Zahoor Ahmed, son of Ahmed Bhat, resident of Danna village in Loran area of Mandi. He had been working in Kalai area and went to the Plastu river for taking bath at around 4.30 pm. He was washed away in river. Some locals noticed him from the long distance and moved the river site but could not help. The river was flooded and he washed away in strong currents. The mater was later reported to police. A joint search operation was launched but Zahoor’s body could not be traced till this evening.
