POONCH, June 7: The dead body of a teen-aged boy was found hanging from the branch of a tree in forest area of Sheindarra, near Kalai bridge in Poonch today.
The deceased has been identified as Zahid Farooq (15), son of Mohammed Farooq, resident of Sheindarra village, under Poonch Police jurisdiction. A local noticed the body hanging from a tree, with its feet nearly touching the ground and immediately informed village head and family members. Sarpanch informed the matter to Poonch police.
A police party from Poonch rushed to the site and after examining spot, shifted it to District Hospital Poonch for postmortem. The family and locals alleged that it was clear murder and demanded arrest of the accused persons.
The police registered a case under sections 174 CrPC and launched inquest proceedings. The police said it was working on all the angles and the case will be worked out shortly.
