YRS celebrates birth anniversary of Gen Zorawar Singh

JAMMU, Apr 15: Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) celebrated the 233rd birth anniversary of General Zorawar Singh in presence of its President Rajveer Singh here today.
On the occasion, floral tributes were paid to General Zorawar Singh and sweets were distributed among the participants and of Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajveer Singh said that Zorawar Singh was born on April 15, 1786 at Kahloor, Himachal Pradesh, now Bilaspur. Later as General of Jammu Raja Gulab Singh, he launched Ladakh campaign from Kishtwar by marching into the Ladakhi Province of Purig, the estate of The Sultans, on April 15 1834 with an army of 5000 men and ended up having invested Gilgit-Baltistan and Western Tibet, he added. He also informed that gathering about various other achievements of Zorawar Singh.
Among others present were Ranjeet Singh, Mukesh Singh, Mohinder Singh, Rajinder Singh, Surjeet Singh, Ballu Langeh, Yaswant Singh, Harman Singh, Sandeep Singh, Vishal Singh, Rajesh Singh and Rohit Singh.
