YRS demands gazetted holiday on Sep 23, Rajput Welfare Board

JAMMU, July 23: Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) demanded gazetted holiday on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh, which falls on September 23 and setting up of Rajput Welfare Board.
Addressing a press conference, Surinder Singh Gilli, President, YRS said that the Sabha is fighting for the rights of Rajput community and is committed to unite the youth of the community and channelize their energy in the positive direction.
He disclosed that the Sabha has decided to strengthen its units at district and tehsil levels for which a State level committee would be constituted to frame district and tehsil units vis-à-vis their presidents.
Gilli added that the Rajput community is being taken for granted by successive Governments of the State by ignoring pending demands of Rajput community which include the declaration of gazetted holiday on September 23 and setting up of Rajput Welfare Board.
He appealed to the Rajput community to get united to get these genuine demands fulfilled.
He served ultimatum to the Government till September 23 to concede the demands failing to which YRS will launch agitation.
He further appealed to Rajput representatives of the State Legislative to get united for getting Rajput Welfare Board constituted otherwise the youth will be forced to come on streets to get their demands conceded.
Surinder also demanded judicial enquiry into the recent incidents of communal clashes in Rajouri and action against the guilty.
