JAMMU, Aug 5: Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) has reiterated its demand for the restoration of Statehood, Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), and Dogra Certificate in the Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir without any delay.
Addressing media persons here on the completion of four years of abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A by the Central Government, Vikram Singh Vicky, President of YRS, lamented the downgrade from a “grade A” State to a “grade D” due to the bifurcation. Vikram asserted that J&K, once a princely State with historical ties to India, had suffered this demotion despite its significant stature.
Vikram also questioned the absence of Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) rights for the people of J&K, which Leh Ladakh UT was granted immediately upon attaining Union Territory status.
Furthermore, he highlighted the revocation of the Dogra Certificate in the Jammu Division due to political pressures, explaining that this certificate held cultural and employment significance.
Vikram called on the Central Government to prioritize the restoration of Statehood for J&K and the recognition of PRC and Dogra Certificate rights. He also emphasized the need for heritage site renovation in J&K, as these sites embody the pride and identity of the Dogra Rulers and their history.
