JAMMU, Aug 4: The Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) convened a crucial meeting today under the leadership of YRS President Vikram Singh Chib.
Attended by the core committee and other members, the meeting focused on preparations for an upcoming protest scheduled for August 6.
As per a statement, the demonstration will take place near the Maharaja Hari Singh statue, advocating for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s Statehood.
In his address, President Vikram Singh emphasized the significant contributions of Dogra Maharajas, soldiers and the Rajput community in establishing the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
He reiterated the YRS’s commitment to restoring Statehood, citing the Government’s failure to fulfil its promise over the past five years.
Singh expressed frustration over the current administration’s actions, noting that while the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has been empowered, fundamental and political rights have been eroded.
He also criticized political parties, including the BJP, for their silence on this critical issue and questioned their commitment to the “Vocal for Local” slogan.
The YRS called on all community members, social NGOs, and social workers to participate in the protest, which will be held at 11 am on August 6 near the Maharaja Hari Singh Statue at the Tawi main Bikram Chowk Bridge.
The organization urged one and all to unite for the rights and betterment of Jammu and Kashmir.
