JAMMU, Apr 22: Up in arms against the purported statement given by former Union Minister and BJP MP candidate Purshotam Rupala against Rajput community in Gujarat, Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) held a strong protest, here today.
Led by YRS president Vikram Singh Vicky along with former president Rajan Singh Happy, the protesters assembled near the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh at Tawi Bridge and raised slogans seeking expulsion of Purshotam Rupala from BJP.
They asked BJP to immediately expel Purshotam Rupala from the party or face boycott by the entire Rajput community.

While addressing, Vikram Singh strongly condemned the statement of Rupala and alleged that it was an intentional attempt to hurt the sentiments of Rajput community, which always believes in brotherhood. “Contribution of the Rajputs is unforgettable as our country was ruled by various Rajput Maharajas and our community donated their states, lands, properties and all financial help to make the country Independent, he said and added that Rajput warriors always sacrificed their lives to protect the nation, but some political leaders were hell bent try to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the country through such types of controversial statements.
Vikram Singh announced that if BJP doesn’t take action against Rupala type leaders, Rajput community will boycott this party.
Rajan Singh Happy also raised voice against the reservation system in India that, he said, was being used only for political benefits. “Why the administration doesn’t recommend the reservation system on the need basis and for those families only which belong to BPL.
YRS members, who were present in today’s protest, appeals all the community people to come forward and join hands over this important issue.
