JAMMU, Aug 23: Demanding restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) staged a strong protest demonstration, here today.
Amid raising of slogans and holding National Flag, the protest was staged near the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh, adjoining Tawi Bridge Jammu. They were demanding immediate restoration of the statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Protesting Yuva Rajput Sabha members threatened vigorous agitation if the statehood to Jammu and Kashmir is not restored before the upcoming birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh.
Team YRS members, led by President Vikram Singh Vicky along with former President Rajan Singh Happy and Core Committee members assembled in front of the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh and held demonstration.
Vikram asked the Central Government to fulfill its promise of restoring statehood and giving due political and fundamental rights to the people of J&K.
Vikram reiterated that YRS is a non political organizations and therefore they will not contest upcoming Assembly election. He appealed Jammu based political parties and organizations to join hands over the issue. All political parties should highlight the issues being faced by Dogra community in J&K and put their expectations and demand on their upcoming election manifesto. Click here to watch video
Rajan Singh Happy alleged that after 1947, ruling parties neglected the contributions of Dogra community and same was done by even BJP Government. in August 2019 as they downgraded J&K State into UT. Urging Central Government to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir before the forthcoming birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, which falls on September 23, Yuva Rajput Sabha threatened a vigorous agitation if the demand is not fulfilled within one month.
