Srinagar, Jan 15: The Department of Youth Services & Sports today started its annual training in snow skiing for the 1st batch of girls on the world-famous ski slopes of the attractive tourist destination of Kashmir.
The training course in the sport was inaugurated by Assistant Director of Tourism, Dr Javaid-ul- Rehman in presence of District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Srinagar, Balbir Singh Sodhi.
In his address, the chief guest congratulated & encouraged the participants for their interest in the training of the adventure sport.
He stressed the young trainees to work hard during the course to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills.
DYSSO Srinagar briefed the participants regarding such initiatives of the Department under which youth are engaged in productive activities.
He also highlighted the achievements of the YSS Department and instructed the trainers to work with utmost dedication during the course.
He also instructed his colleagues to provide every possible facility to the students during the entire course.
He thanked the Department of Tourism for their support and cooperation in making the course possible at the busiest tourist destination.
Pertinent to mention, 45 girl students from various Government schools of district Srinagar are taking part in the 15 days training course.
Such courses are a regular affair of the Department of Youth Services and Sports and are being run under the supervision of the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports J&K to train aspiring students in the domain.
Olympian Gul Mustafa Dev, Incharge course Muzamil Ahmad, and Incharge Hutments-YSS Hilal Ahmad besides other senior officers and instructors of the department also attended the inaugural function.
