Yudhvir inaugurates CSIR Floriculture Mission

JAMMU, Mar 25: Yudhvir Sethi, Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice president while lauding CSIR IIIM for ‘Floriculture Mission’ has asked the students to plant floral plants to beautify the landscape.
The senior BJP leader expressed this during an inaugural programme organized by CSIR IIM Jammu in collaboration with Central Basic School Jammu under the Urban Floriculture theme ‘Floriculture Mission’ at Central Basic School here today.
It is a flagship programme of CSIR IIM whereby students are motivated through awareness and training pertaining to significance of beautifying the landscape through floriculture innovations. This programme is being organized for school students as part of ‘CSIR Floriculture Mission’.
A large number of students participated in this programme in which Yudhvir Sethi, was the chief guest.
Principals and representatives of seven schools namely Air Force School, Kendriya Vidhyalaya Miran Sahib, Government Higher Secondary School Bhour Camp, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Canal Road, Hari Singh School and the host Central Basic School participated in today’s programme. More than 70 participants attended the floriculture distribution function in which Yudhvir Sethi distributed floral plants.
In his address Sethi commended the role of CSIR IIIM in taking lead and conceiving and implementing a unique societal programme. He said CSIR –IIIM under the guidance of Dr Jitendra Singh is doing appreciable work in promoting the entrepreneurships programmes for young start-ups in the region.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were corporator, Anil Masoom, Hari Om Sharma, Praveen Kerni, Kartar Gupta, Arun Sethi, Sudhir Anand, Suresh Bharti, Vaneet Gupta, Sanjeev Sawhney, Pawan Kumar Sharma, Nipun Malhotra, Kamal Kishore Jain and Ajay Anand.
