JAMMU, July 25: To assess the damages done due to rains in the old Jammu city areas, senior BJP leader, Yudhvir Sethi today toured Raj Tilak road, Sabzi Mandi and adjoining areas.
The area is an important business centre of the city and vegetable market along with other business establishments are located in the ever busy area.
Acting swiftly on the representation of local businessmen and residents, Yudhvir toured the area and urged the concerned departments for immediate restoration of the lanes, drains and other infrastructure.
He said different departments should jointly work for devising a strategy to contain damages due to rains in the city.
Yudhvir said a comprehensive project report needs to be framed for the Old City areas so that a long term solution is ensured and people are saved from miseries in the Monsoon season.
He asked the JMC authorities to start work on lanes, drains and black topping of roads, adding that deep drains should be constructed in the area so as to avoid frequent choking.
Concerned officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation accompanied him during the tour.
