JAMMU, Feb 14: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), Jammu in collaboration with Punjabi Department University of Jammu organized a function where a Yuva Vishesh Ank (special issue) of Sheeraza (Punjabi) was released.
Prof R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Jammu University was the chief guest. S Rangil Singh, former Minister and Chairman MBS College of Engineering, Science & Technology, Jammu, presided over. Prof Lalit Magotra was the guest of honour. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL and Prof Kedar Nath Sharma, HoD, Punjabi Depertment of JU also shared the dais.
Dr Baljit Raina read out a paper on the special issue of Sheeraza (Punjabi) highlighting the literary aspects and related issues of this publication.
A Kahani Goshthi was also organized during this programme. Four Punjabi stories were presented by Ravneet Kaur, Amanpreet Kaur, Harsimran Singh and Gurpreet Kaur in the Goshthi.
Prof R D Sharma in his address appreciated the initiative taken by the Academy to promote literary activities among the youth. He expressed his happiness that many scholars and student of the University are published in the international standardized magazine of the Academy.
S Rangil Singh in his presidential address said that the youth should come forward to take part in literary activities.
Prof Lalit Magotra expressed his views in detail about various aspects of the stories presented. He appreciated all the participating young short stories writers and said that such efforts and initiatives by the J&K Cultural Academy will encourage the youth towards the literature and language.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn said that Cultural Academy has brought out this special issue to bring the youth to the fore. He also informed that such special issues of Sheeraza Dogri and Hindi are also in the pipeline.
