JAMMU, Jan 20: YUVTARANG 22-23 – the mega cultural/literary contest, organised by Department of Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) entered the third day of ‘Kalanjali’ – with its first segment of ‘Gayan and Nritya ’, here today.
The event includes 4 events including Western Vocal Solo, Western Vocal group, Creative Dance and Classical Dance Solo at GCW Gandhi Nagar, wherein 50 students from constituent colleges and PG schools participated in the today’s events.
Dr Jatinder Khajuria , Registrar CLUJ graced the prize distribution ceremony along with Prof Chandershekhar, Dean School of Engineering and Technology, who was also the observer for today’s event and Dr Ranvijay Singh, Dean Research Studies. The dignitaries lauded the participants for their stupendous performance.
Dr Twinkle Suri, DSW informed that the musical euphoria presented by the students is an effort to showcase their creative talent and motivate them to excel in national and international levels.
The adjudicators for western vocal solo and western vocal group were Narinder Wazir (Musician), Dr Mukteshi Sharma (Dept. of Music, GCW Udhampur) and Amarjeet Singh (Doordarshan), while Shivani Kapoor and Dr Priya Dutta (IMFA) and Amit Gupta (Choreographer) were the adjudicators for creative dance and classical dance solo.
The programme was coordinated by cultural coordinators, Assistant Deans, Students Welfare, CLUJ under the overall supervision of Associate Deans, Students Welfare of the University.
In western vocal solo, Sharad Chettri from MAM College, Mehak Akhter from GCW Gandhi Nagar and Sagun Chetra from GGM Science College bagged top three medals respectively, while in western vocal group, Govt. College of Education and GCW Gandhi Nagar stood 1st and 2nd respectively.
In creative dance solo, Akanksha from School of Sciences, Sukriti Singh from GCW Gandhi Nagar and Muskan Sharma from GCW Gandhi Nagar won top three medals respectively and in classical dance solo, Anima Sharma and Shivya Gandotra remained 1st and 2nd respectively.
