Zanskar Buddhist Association takes up issues with Rijiju

JAMMU, Feb 28: Zanskar Buddhist Association led by its president Tsewang Chostar met Union MoS for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and highlighted various demands.
During the meeting, Chostar demanded immediate execution of ground work to channelize landslide at Phuktal river crises and its blockage, expedite in execution of Nimmu-Padum-Darcha Chadar road, creation of NHAI Division at Zanskar and expedite tendering process of newly approved National Highway Kargil-Padum.
Chostar also demanded sub district status to Zanskar with posting of additional DC, sanction compensation to the victims of 2012 communal riots of Zanskar and special package for development of infrastructure around Duzin Photang Zanskar.
He also sought funds for construction of animal sheds at Doksas and helicopter service for stranded passengers of Zanskar from Leh to Padum.
MoS Kiren Rijiju listened to the issues patiently and assured that the relevant matter shall be taken up with various Central and State Government agencies for redressal.
