Zanskar delegation calls on LG Mathur

LEH, Dec 7: A joint delegation from the BDC and Sarpanch Coordination Committee, Zanskar Sub-Division today met Lieutenant Governor (LG), R.K Mathur and Commissioner Secretary, Rigzin Samphel.
The delegation included Chairman BDC, Karsha Chairman BDC, Zanskar Chairman BDC Cha and Passang Lawang, Sarpanch Stongdey and others.
It demanded all basic and effective amenities to the people of Zanskar and fulfilment of long pending demand of District status for Zanskar Sub-Division.
The delegation appraised the LG about the shortage of doctors at Community Health Center, Padum and restoration of VSAT internet for Gram Panchayats of Zanskar.
Non-existence of digital connectivity in the region and poor condition of various roads was also discussed and the demand of increasing the pace of road repairs in Zanskar was raised.
The delegation further demanded boosting of the pace of work on various outstanding road projects including Neemo-Padum-Darcha road project.
The issue of health facilities in Zanskar was also raised.
The LG promised to tackle all the issues raised by the delegation at the earliest and promised to visit Zanskar soon.
