JAMMU, Sept 27: Zeeshan Rana, senior NC leader and additional spokesperson of J&K National Conference, has strongly criticized the J&K Administration for its inability to bring about the promised transformation in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
Speaking at a press conference here today NC leader expressed his concern over the alarming State of affairs in the Union Territory. He highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir is currently facing a dangerous situation in terms of development and security. The absence of a popularly elected Government has significantly increased the suffering of the people.
Rana pointed out the deplorable condition of roads in the Mendhar Tehsil, despite notifying the concerned authorities multiple times. The 45 km BG to Balnoi Road, which has not been constructed since independence, has made the lives of Mendhar people unbearable.
In response to the Government’s failure to address the pressing issues concerning the general public, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the J&K Court seeking judicial intervention. Rana emphasized that there seems to be a well-knit conspiracy against the construction of the Balnoi road, as evidenced by the repeated evasion of the issuing of NoC by the Border Roads Organization despite the availability of funds.
He expressed his concern over the dilapidated condition of the road network across the Pir Panjal Zone. Many recently macadamized roads are already in poor condition, and the administration seems to be turning a blind eye to the issues raised by the general public in the area.
The NC leader lamented the lack of attention given to the genuine concerns of the people and called for prompt and effective measures to address the pressing issues faced by the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
