RAJOURI, Dec 1: Director School Education Jammu, Rashid Ahmed Inqlabi today panelized ZEO, ZEPO and 13 other officials of the Zonal Education office, Sunderbani for being absent from duty and directed Deputy Chief Education Officer, Nowshera to hold inquiry into the matter.
The action was taken by the Director, on the complaint of a citizen that most of the officials were absent from duty in the office of ZEO Sunderbani. Out of the total strength of 18, just three employees including a clerk and two peons were present. The Director immediately after receiving complaint directed Principal Higher Secondary School (Boys), Sunderbani, O P Sharma to visit office and forward him immediate status report. The Principal who paid visit to ZEO office at around 12.35 pm found one Cluster Resource Person (CRP) and two class-IV employees on duty while others were absent. He then communicated the status report to Mr Inqlabi on phone.
After this, the Director asked Dy CEO Nowshera Ravinder Singh to hold an inquiry into the matter and submit him report within a week. Meanwhile, the Director stopped the salary of all the employees found absent and sought their explanation through CEO Rajouri.
Mr Inqlabi when contacted said that he received a telephone call from Sunderbani at around 12.30 pm today that most of the staff members were absent from duty in ZEO office. ZEO Shamsher Chand was also not available in the office. “ Upon this, I asked Principal HSS, Sunderbani Mr Sharma to personally visit the office of ZEO and give status report. Information was correct. Then I directed Dy CEO to hold inquiry and submit report within 7 days. The salary of staff has been staopped. Further action will be taken after the report is received from DyCEO,” Mr Inqlabi maintained.
