MENDHAR, May 22: Chief Education Officer Poonch has seized the powers of ZEO Mankote and given the same to Principal Higher Secondary School, Mankote Sardar Narinder Singh on the instructions of MP Madan Lal Sharma and MLA Javed Rana.
The MP and MLA took serious exception to the style of functioning of ZEO during their meeting at Poonch yesterday after the people of the area alleged that the schools in the Mankote Zone remain mostly closed and they don’t function properly and there is no punctuality in the schools of the area.
Taking serious exception to the same they issued instructions to CEO Poonch to seize powers of ZEO Mankote.
Meanwhile, Dy Chief Education Officer Mendhar Mohammed Sadiq has placed two teachers of Government Primary School Khalyarala Darana, Manzoor Hussain and Khalshed Begum under suspension for dereliction of duties.
The Dy CEO had also received complaints that out of 22 GI sheets of the school, the teachers have sold 20 to local people.
