ZEO suspended for bunglings in ReT lists

RAJOURI, Feb 25: The Government today placed I/C Zonal Education Officer  (ZEO) Manjakote in district Rajouri under suspension for the alleged bunglings in the ReT teachers’ selection.
The action was taken by the Administration Department (School Education)  after receiving certain complaints against the Zonal Education Officer, Shah Nawaz Khan, posted at Manjakote. The officer was placed under suspension and attached to the office of  Director School Education, Jammu pending inquiry.
At the same time the Government directed the Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri  to hold inquiry and submit the report within shortest possible time.  District Education Planning Officer, Rajouri  has been given the additional charge of Manjakote zone till further orders.
Additional Secretary, Education Mr Inqilabi when contacted disclosed that on the basis of  several complaints from the area, action was taken today by the Administrative Department. A preliminary inquiry has already been initiated in this regard. The said officer was sitting over the file of a panel of ReT teachers, appointed in the area for the last two years. There were total 24 such panels pending in the area. Tehsildar concerned during scrutiny found that in ten panels/ cases, the habilitation certificate had not been obtained from the competent authority and these papers were found to be fake. On the basis of  bunglings/ discrepancies in the selection process, the Government took action against him.
