SRINAGAR, Oct 3: Several members raised issues of public importance during the Zero Hour in the Legislative Council today.
Rafiq Shah raised the issue of anti-Islam film made in USA and termed it as a conspiracy against peace and humanity.
Bashir Ahmed Veeri said that Bijbehra-Pahalgam fruit belt is witnessing good fruit season this year. He, however sought the intervention by the Government to regulate transportation charges of fruits to mandies.
Mohammad Amin Bhat raised the issue of shortage of portable drinking water in some areas of Devsar constituency. Ajay Kumar Sadhotra called for establishing centrally located Food Corporation of India procurement centres to minimize carriage charges of paddy crops for the benefit of the farmers.
Subash Chander Gupta raised the issue of cross border firing in village of Samba sector and sought relief for 2 person of a family injured in the incident on October 1st. He asked the Government to take steps to raise confidence among residents of border areas.
Naresh Gupta raised the issue regarding agitation by people in Baderwah demanding adequate medical staff and 24×7 emergency unit in the sub and district hospitals. Syed Aga Rizvi demanded filling up of the posts of ACD, project officer DRDA, project officer Haryali and vacant posts of BDOs in the Rural Development Department in district Kargil.
Narboo Gialchen raised the issue of non recognition of the Ayurvedic degree of a Jammu based institute and sought relief for such students. Jugal Kishore Sharma demanded filling up of posts of ZEOs in the Education Department in district Reasi.
Ajat Shatru Singh demanded better road connectivity to promote adventure, religious and sports tourism in Surinsar-Mansar-Samba circuit. Master Noor Hussain demanded adequate allocation of funds to the Flood Control Department for safeguarding life and property against floods.
Syed Asgar Ali demanded free ration to all land holders and regular rationees in calamity affected areas. He called for providing free ration in addition to the regular ration to the people affected by natural calamities.
Dharam Bir Singh Oberio raised the issue of shortage of LPG in the State and demanded lowering of LPG cylinder rates. B.R.Kundal raised the issue of fixing of seniority and promotion of Engineers and officers belonging to Schedule Caste category and demanded that promotion be made strictly as per seniority.
Jehangir Hussain Mir raised the issue that Service Selection Recruitment Board is not recognizing certain degrees from colleges established outside State.
