JAMMU, July 29: Col (retd) JDS Kotwal, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer of Sainik Welfare Department of J&K along with his office staff visited Maira Mandrian today to assess the problems of the Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents on the spot.
About 40 to 50 Ex –servicemen, Veer Naris and their next kin from the far flung areas attended the meeting.
Col Kotwal apprised gathering regarding the revised schemes and welfare measures being extended by the Central and State Governments. The gathering was informed about the revised rates of penury grant of non –pensioner ESM/widows above 65 year of age. The latest orders on implementation of the 7th Pay Commission were also explained in detail. The gathering was also informed about the latest policy and recruitment letters received from Army Headquarters other agencies.
