Zinc futures down 0.55 pc on subdued demand, weak global cues

NEW DELHI, July 26:  Amid low demand in spot markets and a weak trend in the global market, zinc extended weakness with prices falling by another 0.55 per cent in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc prices for delivery in July declined by 60 paise, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 108.60 per kg in business turnover of 251 lots.
Likewise, the metal prices for delivery in August traded lower by 55 paise, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 110.05 per kg in 23 lots.
Market analysts said besides sluggish domestic demand in the spot market, weak global trend after manufacturing in China weakened will dampen demand, weighed on zinc prices in futures trade. (PTI)
