Zinc futures marginally down on weak overseas trend

NEW DELHI, Oct 15:  Zinc futures prices today edged lower by 0.13 per cent to Rs 117.20 per kg as speculators reduced positions, taking weak cues from the overseas market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October shed 15 paise, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 117.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 217 lots.
The metal for delivery in November fell by 10 paise, or 0.08 per cent to Rs 118.50 per kg in a turnover of three lots.
In the international market, zinc prices fell by 0.1 per cent at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Marketmen said weakness in copper and other base metals at the LME as US lawmakers continued talks to avoid a breach of the nation’s debt limit, mainly kept pressure on zinc futures trade. (PTI)
