Zinc futures up 0.37 pc on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Mar 14: Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.37 per cent to Rs 122.80 per kg amid a firm trend in spot market on domestic demand, as speculators created positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April up by 45 paise, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 122.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 16 lots.
The metal for delivery in March also rose by 40 paise, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 121.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 362 lots.
Globally, zinc traded a shade higher at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Marketmen said besides improved demand in the spot market and covering-up of short positions by speculators, metal’s gain at the LME supported the upside in zinc prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
