Zinc strengthens on increased demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 11: Prices of zinc rose further by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today on the back of increased demand from consuming industries.

However, other base metals held steady in thin trade.

Traders said increased demand from consuming industries and reports of a firming trend in global prices mainly kept zinc prices higher.

In the national capital, zinc ingot advanced by Rs 2 to Rs 118-124 per kg.

Zinc ingot Rs 118-124, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 1,055-1,060, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 410, Chadri deshi Rs 285.

Lead ingot Rs 99, Lead imported Rs 100, Aluminium ingots Rs 158, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 159, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 161 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 158. (PTI)
