‘Zor Ka Jhatka’ featured in Natrang’s Sunday Theatre

JAMMU, Dec 9: ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’, a new Hindi play originally written by Harish Kashyap and adapted and directed by Anil Tickoo was staged here today at Natrang Studio Theatre, in its weekly theatre series, Sunday Theatre. The situational comedy erupted in the play mustered much applause from the audience.
In the play, Zor Ka Jhatka, ‘Amjad’ is shown as a very docile person who is in love with ‘Sayeeda’ and wants to marry her. One day, his close friend ‘Shafique’ insisted him to go for drinking, where ‘Sayeeda’ saw them doing weird activities on road as they were heavily drunk and she hates the people who drink. To save his skin, Amjad cooks a story, he tells Sayeeda that Shafique was his General when he was in Army and he ordered him to drink and being his sub-ordinate, how could he disobey him.
Being a caring girl, Sayeeda agrees to the story. Getting benefit from the false story, Shafique, starts flirting with Sayeeda in front of Amjad and he could not stop him as Shafique was introduced as his General, even Sayeeda gives much attention to the General who narrates false adventure stories of his bravery. Thinking that Shafique will win Sayeeda’s heart, Amjad does a deal with him, he pays him a heavy amount to quit and leave for his home. After getting the money, Shafique revealed that Sayeeda is his wife and the couple has been duping him.
Rohit Verma as ‘Amjad’, Uplaksh Singh Kotwal as ‘Shafique’ and Shakshi Prakash as ‘Sayeeda’ were all very impressive with their acting. The sets were designed by Ashwani Bali and Sushil Raina. Anil Tickoo designed the lights, Mohd Yaseen operated the Music. Sumeet Sharma coordinated the show and Balwinder Singh did the presentations.
