JAMMU, July 7: Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal along with former MLC, Vikram Randhawa here today jointly flagged off 12th annual Chitto Mata Charri Yatra from Jammu to Padder, Kishtwar.
Led by Nitish Gupta, many pilgrims from city and peripheral areas assembled at Rani Talab Digiana and marched with flags, dancing on the tunes of drumbeats and singing devotional songs.
Speaking on the occasion Zorawar Singh wished safe journey to the pilgrims and highlighted the need of such pilgrimages to inculcate a sense of spiritualism in the society.
“Jammu region is a host to number of such pilgrimages including Shri Amarnath and Mata Vaishno Devi Yatras and it is the duty of all Jammuites to welcome and take care of the guests coming from rest of the India,” he maintained.
Senior BJP leader, Vikram Randhawa prayed for communal harmony, peace and prosperity in the State. He said that Chitto Mata holy shrine is bestowed with serenity and one could experience the spiritual manifestation at the sanctum sanctorum itself.
He hoped that the pilgrimage may touch new heights in future and emerge as one of the famous pilgrim destinations on tourist map of India.
