SAMBA, Mar 30: Zila Sainik Welfare Office (ZSWO) Samba, organised a meeting at village Chhanni Kartholi in Bari Brahmana tehsil today.
The function concentrated on contact programme with Ex Servicemen (ESM)/Veer Naries and their wards to educate them about education, finances and pension. Col (retd) R K Sharma, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Samba highlighted the need to help non pensioners and informed the Ex-Servicemen to take help of Zila Sila Sainik Welfare Office regarding pension related issues and other welfare schemes for ESM and Veer Naries.
ZSWO Samba stressed on the need among the ESM and Veer Naries that they should be aware of various Government schemes and must take benefit of the same. He also advised the ESMs that they should ensure that their children work hard and compete in competitive examinations so that they can make use of the available reservation in various professional courses.
He asked all new retirees to equip themselves with the skills required for the job in civil stream so that they can easily transition army to civil life. They were also asked to ensure that all documentations is correct and any ambiguity must be rectified in time. He also stressed on the need of utilizing PM scholarship scheme for students. ESMs were encouraged to take help of various schemes under the Department of KVIC Scheme (Khadi and Village Industries Scheme) to start their own business units.
A large number of decorated soldiers, veterans, Veer Naries and wards of veterans attended the meeting.
