GANDERBAL, Feb 15: Commissioner Secretary, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Zubair Ahmad today presided over a public darbar held in Kangan to take stock of issues and demands of the people.
Emphasizing a direct engagement with the public, the Commissioner Secretary interacted with the attendees, listening to their grievances and demands. He assured speedy redressal of issues as per merit, in coordination with relevant departments.
The event witnessed participation of local residents, PRI representatives and other stakeholders, who projected various issues and demands seeking an early redressal of the same. They demanded commissioning of Akhal bridge, removal of encroachments along nallah Sindh, completion of Thune Branwari road, completion of Surfraw water supply scheme, settlement of forest rights cases, repair of Thune Hayan bridge, development of inner roads and other issues of public importance.
Expressing satisfaction over the outreach program, the locals appreciated the opportunity to voice their grievances and demands. They urged upon the Government to expedite redressal of their issues through appropriate channels.
Zubair reiterated the Government’s commitment towards enhancing public services and ensuring an effective and responsive administration. He underscored the importance of grievance redressal programs in institutionalizing an output mechanism, directing district heads to promptly sort out the public issues and demands besides informing them about the status of ongoing projects.
On-the-spot directions were issued to concerned officers to attend all issues raised during the public darbar, with emphasis on settling genuine cases of forest rights in consultation with relevant stakeholder departments.
Highlighting Government initiatives for generating self-employment opportunities, the Commissioner Secretary instructed line departments to promote these schemes for maximum benefit of the public.
Among others Additional District Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, CEO SDA, Assistant Commissioner Development, SDM Kangan, along with other district officers besides DDC members of Kangan and Lar were present on the occasion.
