BHOPAL, Oct 30: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department and Tribal Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali called on Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection in Madhya Pradesh Government and discussed successful implementation of National Food Security Act in the State.
The Minister also visited various sale centres and personally accessed the functioning of the department besides visited Steel Silo Plant of Bhopal. Accompanied by Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection Minister of MP , Commissioners and Secretaries of the Food Department of the state of MP and J&K, Chowdhary Zulfkar was given power point presentation on the implementation of NFSA in MP and problems they faced during its implementation.
They briefed the Minister about Samagra concept, creation of family IDs, listing of beneficiaries and other aspects they used while implementation of this act. Officers apprised the Minister that they used Samagra platform to address legal and procedural requirements and the concept has worked very efficiently.
Minister was also given briefing about stake holders workshops held by the state, Food Security Festival, State PDS Portal, Supply Chain Management and efficient grievance redressal mechanism.
Impressing upon the working of Food Department of MP, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that Jammu & Kashmir is also trying to implement NFSA in efficient manner and they are holding deliberations with the states already implemented the same on grounds.
The Minister invited Food Minister of MP and Commissioners of the Department to Jammu & Kashmir and sought their cooperation in the implementation of NFSA in J&K.
Meanwhile, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali also visited various Food Sale Centres in Bhopal. The Minister also visited India’s one of the biggest Steel Silo Plant in Bhopal.
The Minister was accompanied by senior officers of Food Department of MP Government.
