Zulfkar hands over promotion orders to 124 officials

JAMMU, Oct 29: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA)  Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali  today said that  the perception of the people with regard to the  Food and Civil Supplies Department  has completely changed following its reorganization, reconditioning and  continuous streamlining of  all the  subsidiary branches for effective management and public delivery system.
This was stated by the Minister while handing over the promotion orders to 124 employees, on the eve of Diwali.
The Minister further said that the department has adopted two pronged approach for improving the work culture including already initiated  innovative and consumer friendly schemes involving e-rationing, GPS installation in department trucks, opening of  LPG outlets and effective public distribution system alongwith  complete reorientation of the department by bringing  complete transparency in its departmental promotion policies.
On the occasion, the Minister announced the promotion orders of 124 employees who after 2 month long exercise were approved by DPC on   28th October.
Interacting with the promoted employees, the Minister instructed them to follow work ethics and work with honesty, dedication and transparency for ensuring that the objectives are accomplished for the good of all stakeholders.
He instructed the department to ensure that DPCs are  made a biannual feature for better promotional facilities for the employees . He further instructed the department to complete all formalities for other employees so that their cases are also scrutinized in next DPC.
With this DPC, total 137 employees have been promoted this financial year, including 35 employees promoted as Senior Assistants and Store keepers, 87 TSOs,   Head Assistants, Supervisors, Area Inspectors and 2 others as Chief Inspectors.
