Zulfkar orders enquiry into illegal allocation of food grains

SRINAGAR, June 16: Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs Ch. Zulfkar Ali today ordered   detailed enquiry by Crime Branch into allocation of ration to fake families in Mandi village of Poonch district.
Minister gave this direction while chairing a meeting to review the progress of verification of ration cards in Pir Panjal and Chenab valley.
Deliberating on the issue, the Minister said that during scrutiny of the records it was found that some fake families in the village have received ration when actually these do not exist. He asserted that a thorough enquiry is needed in the matter and stringent action under rules would be taken against the negligent officials.
Emphasizing on the need to weed out all bogus ration cards, Minister directed for devising a concrete mechanism to eliminate such type of malpractices all together from the system.
Among various other issues, the meeting  also deliberated on issuance of Aadhar cards, status of DBTL scheme, revised plan of Article 275(1) ,establishment of Eklavya residential schools and special school for tribal girls in every district etc.
Regarding Aadhar cards, Minister directed the concerned DDCs to complete the process before 15th of August. He instructed them to appoint a nodal officer for this purpose and submit the report on weekly basis.
Earlier, Minister convened a preliminary meeting of district officers to discuss the modalities for finalizing district plan for ensuing DDB meeting for current fiscal of district kupwara.
The Minister exhorted upon the officers to formulate a comprehensive developmental perspective plan envisaging timely completion of annual targets besides creating tangible assets.
Minister for Animal Husbandry, Sajad Gani Lone, Member Parliament, Fayaz A Mir, MLA Langate, MLA Kupwara, MLA Tangdhar, MLC Tangdhar, also attended the meeting.
