UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: Minister for Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Information, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, today chaired a meeting of officials of R&B, FCS&CA, PHE and other departments to review the status of ongoing works in Udhampur.
During the meeting, the Minister took a comprehensive review of physical and financial achievements registered under various sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Zulfkar called for judicious utilization of funds and asked officers to conduct frequent field visits to ascertain implementation of schemes on the ground.
He also directed the officers for effective implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) scheme in district and for proper distribution of food grains among the population, particularly people of lower strata of the society.
Zulfkar also instructed the R&B officials to initiate the work of black-topping in the left-out areas besides filling of pot-holes wherever required in the district.
Having been briefed on the status of road network in the district, the Minister directed the concerned authorities for early completion of ongoing road works besides ensuring proper maintenance of existing roads. He called for early completion of works.
The Minister also sought status report about the ongoing development works in the region and asked the officers to ensure efficiency and promptness in public service delivery.
Zulfkar told the concerned officers that any lapse in duties and timely completion of targets will be viewed seriously and responsibility will be fixed. He asked the officials to adopt a proactive approach to redress the grievances of the people and ensure equitable distribution of supplies and infrastructural development across all areas.
The meeting was attended by MLA Udhampur, Pawan Kumar Gupta, MLA Ramnagar, R.S Pathania, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Arvind Sharma , Director FCS&CA Jammu, R.A Inqalabi, besides other senior functionaries of various departments of the district.
