Zulfkar snubs GIGL for slow pace of work on gas pipeline

JAMMU, Nov 10: Snubbing the concerned company for slow pace of work on Bhatinda-Jammu-Srinagar gas pipeline project,   Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution and Tribal Affairs, Ch Zulfkar Ali convened a meeting to review the progress on this prestigious project.
While receiving brief on the overall progress, the Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of work on the project, calling upon the concerned agency to expedite the work so that it could be completed in the stipulated time. The Minister said that Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed is keen on early completion of the project which would enable the State to provide uninterrupted and hassle free gas supply to the people.
The Minister snubbed GIGL officials and expressed anguish over the non seriousness of the company in completing the project. He said that this gas pipeline is important for the state of Jammu & Kashmir, especially the Kashmir valley owing to frequent closure of National Highway in winter season.
He said that the slow pace of work will not be tolerated at any cost and he wants this prestigious project completed well before the time. He sought presence of the chairman of GIGL Gujrat in the next meeting on the subject scheduled for November 19 and to make full presentation on the project with complete DPR. He said that the company should give complete outline of the project in the next meeting and take the matter seriously.
Among others, Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, Commissioner Secretary Forest, Chief Wildlife Warden, J&K, Chairman Pollution Control Board, Deputy Commissioners of Jammu, Udhampur & Samba, representatives of CAPD and Law department were also present in the meeting.
