RAJOURI, Jan 22: Terming Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s tenure as golden period in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Darhal and Former Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that Mufti had great affection with Kotranka area and he wanted to make this constituency a model in respect of development.
Addressing workers meeting at Kotranka, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that Kotranka was on the main focus of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who wanted to see the area a developed one because he was well aware about the miseries of people facing in this tough terrain.
He also listed the developmental activities in the area for the last 10 months.
Terming opening of medical college in Darhal Constituency a historic decision, Zulfkar said that 123 kanal of land for the medical college earmarked for the same and cabinet has already given nod for transfer of land. He said that a girls’ tribal hostel for District Rajouri will also be constructed in the Darhal constituency. He added that late Mufti had given an ITI College and Amusement Park in Kotranka and wanted to open technical college in the area.
Pledging to project opening of alternate link of Budhal with Kashmir Valley, Zulfkar Ali said that Budhal-Shopian Road is his dream and he will pursue the case of it. He said that this will be shortest link to connect Budhal area with Kashmir valley. He added that it was policy of late Mufti to connect such areas with each other so that people get maximum access. He stated that this road will open new portal for development in the area and he will get it sanctioned in near future.
Former Minister appealed party workers to strengthen the hands of Party President Mehbooba Mufti so that remaining dreams of Kotranka and Darhal areas could be realized and the area will also be known as developed one at par with the other areas of the State.
